About Me
I became interested in Reiki and Nervous System Healing because I was surprised to find how much it helped me in my own health journey.
Reiki is a gentle modality in which hands are laid in a series of positions on the body. I believe that we all have the power to affect others’ energy, and I believe we all heal in various ways when our body and nervous system relax. You don’t need to believe in Reiki for it to work.
I have training in Reiki as well as a related modality called Integrated Energy Therapy. I have also studied meditation with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.
I began my career as a dancer and choreographer, and spent 15 years working with top artists producing and marketing the performing arts. Alongside my healing work, I am an interior decorator and photographer.
I try to bring creativity and sensitivity to all of my work.

What is Reiki?
I use the term Reiki because that is the most commonly used term for healing by laying one’s hands on another to improve their physical or mental health. But, the history of healing with hands spans thousands of years and includes diverse cultural traditions from around the world, such as the concept of Qi in ancient China and Prana in Indian Ayurveda. In the 5th Century BC, Greek physician Hippocrates mentioned “the force which flows from many people's hands," noting that heat from a physician's hands could be "highly salutary" when applied to the sick. The Navajo (Diné) people have a practice of laying hands on someone or something to transmit spiritual energy. More recently, systems like Reiki, founded in the early 20th century, have become popular, but this is an ancient tradition. There have been few studies on these healing modalities as a whole, but research is growing on Reiki—you can read more about the 8 peer review studies that have shown benefits here. There is also growing research on the benefits of simply calming the nervous system—getting into a parasympathetic state—which Reiki has been shown to do.
What can I expect in a session?
We will check in for a few minutes to chat before heading to the table (just like a massage table). I will do a brief meditation before laying my hands gently on various positions on the body (head, shoulders, heart, etc), moving down to the feet.
How long is a session?
Typically about an hour, but it can sometimes go a bit longer. We will check in about timing before we start.
What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable, soft clothing.
